This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants who will be used to fill System/Applications Analyst II job openings as they occur.

The System/Applications Analyst II provides computer and computer related support to users of all systems within the hospital.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Primary area of responsibility is the Sunquest laboratory information system.
  • Perform analysis and troubleshooting to resolve complex problems for users.
  • Analyze existing information systems for efficiency and suitability.
  • Assist users in developing requirements for new systems or changes to current systems.
  • Test new hardware and software for integrity and usability.
  • Configure and install new hardware and software.
  • Assist users in determining training needs, developing training programs and in providing formal and informal training in current or new systems.
  • Recommend hardware, software, and changes in procedures that will assist in the optimization of systems.
  • Participate in the development of system-wide or departmental standards for automated systems.
  • Diagnose system failures, correct problems and lead efforts to develop actions to prevent re-occurrence of the problem.
  • Act as team leader for projects involving multiple analysts or multiple systems.
  • Provides support for other Analysts in the performance of their job.

Special Skills, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be able to operate computer systems and peripheral equipment.

  • Must be able to perform routine trouble-shooting duties related to maintaining the Data

  • Processing systems in a smooth and normal operating mode.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Must have good communication and interpersonal relation dealing with technical staff, as well as non-technical end users.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree, with a computer science or health care related major, and two (2) years of Information Systems experience required.

  • Additional relative experience may be substituted for formal education at the rate of two (2) years of experience for each year of education deficiency.

  • Sunquest (Mysis) Clinical Lab Support experience strongly preferred.

  • Must be available to work occasional swing and night shifts for training and educational purposes.

  • Must be available for on-call duties on rotating weekends.

  • Must be capable of medium physical activity.

  • Experience with clinical information systems preferred. 

  • Experience with EPIC is highly desirable.
