Salem Health is a not-for-profit regional health system in Oregon’s mid-Willamette Valley that includes Salem Hospital, along with West Valley Hospital, a critical-access hospital; Willamette Health Partners (medical group comprising primary-care and specialty practices), and other affiliated healthcare organizations. Salem Hospital, a Magnet®-recognized facility, is a regional referral center and one of the largest acute-care hospitals in Oregon.   Our hospital is licensed for 454 acute care beds, and is guided by a 15-member volunteer Board of Trustees. The hospital is the city of Salem's largest private employer, with approximately 3,500 full and part-time employees.

The Business Intelligence Analyst will focus on our Business Intelligence initiative and participate in continuous improvement activities. This position will need a strong understanding of data concepts, the ability to rapidly accept change, and also be a leader in the coordination of activities.
• Acts as a primary contributor to the design and implementation of system solutions based on customer and/or organizational requirements.
• Project tasks as assigned.
• Maintains an accurate, up-to-date, and well documented ticket queue.
• Consistently provides documentation around area of support based on department and organization standards.
• Coordinates and performs software or hardware maintenance tasks within area of responsibility according to vendor and industry standards.
• Performs analysis and troubleshooting to resolve complex incidents not resolved by the user or tier I support.
• Provides input into developing standards and requirements for new products/services and assists in assuring that new purchases fall within this structure.
• Proactively works to identify and correct root causes of incidents to prevent future recurrence and promote continuous improvement.
• Configures and/or installs new hardware and/or software dependent upon area of responsibility.



Minimum Qualifications:
Senior Analyst:

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology Related Field such as Computer Science or MIS.
• Minimum of one (1) years of IT operational experience required.
• ITIL certification required for current employees. New hires will be required to obtain ITIL certification within six (6) months of start date.

Analyst II:

• Bachelors Degree Required. Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Healthcare preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of IT, Healthcare, or related experience required.
• ITIL certification required for current employees. New hires will be required to obtain ITIL certification within six (6) months of start date. 

 
Analyst I:
• Bachelor’s Degree Required. Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare, or related Business Degree Preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of IT, Healthcare, or related experience.
• ITIL certification required for current employees. New hires will be required to obtain ITIL certification within six (6) months of start date. 

Analyst Associate:
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• ITIL certification required for current employees. New hires will be required to obtain ITIL certification within six (6) months of start date.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work in department and interdepartmentally to articulate ideas, negotiate resolution of issues, and achieve objectives.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other productivity tools, and assigned applications and technologies.
• Strong Working Knowledge of:
o MS Windows
o MS Office Suite
o ITSM Tool
o Assigned applications and technologies
• Solid knowledge of Software development/implementation methodology.
• Experience with IT Service Management tools preferred.
Able to create and track project plans.
Agile Scrum certification preferred.
